Children of the World

I wish that the world was without poverty, and every child born was loved and cared for.
I wish that all children were free from neglect and abuse.
I wish every child was safe and happy.
I wish every child could go to sleep in a bed & wake up to a breakfast.
I wish that all children who are suffering could be brought home to the Happy House.
Please help us to ‘Make a Difference?’ to the lives of so many unhappy, forgotten, vulnerable children.

We desperately need sponsors for the Happy House Kids. A fantastic present to your loved one would be to sponsor a child. £200 a year will give a very vulnerable child a future to look forward to. This can be done by a monthly standing order. Please visit our Sponsored Child Scheme page.
The Happy House is built within 4 acres of land that was donated to the charity by Grandpa Yaa. We are trying to make the Happy House as self sufficient as possible, by growing as much food as possible. We have purchased a crossbreed cow that we have called Brenda she cost £500. We could buy local cows at £50 but they do not produce much milk. When Brenda gives birth in a July we will have around 20 litres of milk a day. We have bought day old chicks to grow for food, and some others for laying eggs. We have lots of vegetables growing, spinach, carrots, kale, tomatoes, plus passion fruit, bananas and oranges, but at the moment we are still having to buy the vegetables in.
To cut costs we are baking our own bread daily, therefore we need yeast. Biscuits and cakes are also being made. There are so many clothes to wash that large amounts of soap powder is needed. A machine could be bought in time, but I prefer to pay wages to local people to do the washing, I can pay three ladies for a year for what it would cost to buy one machine.
Our Wish List is for things that still cost us money. We need to buy seeds to plant, and more fruit trees. Plus the dry goods such as rice and flour, beans, soap powder, toiletries.
I do not know the cost of everything but I will list what is needed, if you are visiting us here at the Happy House, Watamu maybe a few items would fit in your suitcase.
