Work has started on Happy House weekly updates
We welcome media interest and can provide press releases and photos on the charity and its work to support the Children Of Watamu. The work has made a difference to the community and is supported by many people in UK, Ireland, Italy, Belgium and of course Kenya.
The latest project the 'Happy House' which will support many orphans in the area of Watamu have received support in money, volunteers and unique ideas to provide the Happy House with sustainable energy and water. For example - A child's roundabout has been donated which when used by the children will act as a pump to provide fresh water for the children. Thanks to generous donations from numerous companies the money has been raised to build the Orphanage building. We are now raising money to buy furniture, equipment and toys for the Happy House.
The project is sustainable and work has started on the grounds to provide food for the children, a small farm is also planned. The children will be educated and given life skills to give them an opportunity to use their skills in the community. The project works closely with the community and provides many jobs.
A visit can be arranged to the project where you can meet headmaster Silas and his sister Rose who are coordinating the work in Watamu.
The media are welcome to contact Sue Hayward to find out more, for a press release, photos or to arrange a visit. Sue is happy to go on radio or TV to tell her story on how her work is making a difference to the children and community of Watamu.
