Thank You - You know who you are *smile*

We would like to offer our thanks to the many people who have been so kind, generous and thoughtful. Without their help, our hopes and dreams for these children could not be realised. We look forward to your continued support. From myself, Sue Hayward, my fellow trustees, but most of all from The Children of Watamu.

A very special Thank You to Tony Smith who for the past few years has taken great care of the children's web site. His dedication, support, and good sound advice was always greatly appreciated.

Ron & Kath Hewlett, personal friends of mine for a number of years have always been very supportive of my work. Kath tirelessly writes to TV companies and other forms of media in an effort to get publicity for the charity.

Ron has a golfing business, RSH Golf Supplies, and has donated numerous sets of brand new golf clubs for us to raffle, auction or sell to raise funds. The photo shows some of the children who were delighted to receive a new hat sporting the RSH Logo. My very sincere thanks to you both.

The ongoing support of the Abbey Bank is invaluable to our work. A special thank you to Debbie McAlroy who really goes that extra mile to help and support our efforts.

Our main fund raising event of the year is usually held in November and the Abbey kindly match whatever monies have been raised. This provides a tremendous boost to our funds.

Thanks to all those who have sponsored children at the SDA Junior School. We now have 250 children sponsored which is such a great help to the child and their family. This project is enabling the school to become more financially stable. By this I mean that teachers can be paid every month and not just sometimes. Food can be bought for the children's meals and now fresh fruit has been introduced. Thank you all, if YOU feel that you can also help with this project please visit our Sponsored Child Scheme page For around £200 per year you can make such a difference, less than £4 a week can change a child's life.

Many thanks to those who donate raffle prizes and support our charity nights. Nigel and Hilary Wilkinson, butchers, and The Pet Shop Boys from Holmfield Road, Blackpool. Ego Hair and Beauty and the Thai Beach Restaurant, Blackpool.

Your support is greatly needed and truly appreciated.

Thanks to Margaret Robinson who gave us money to buy a £100 premium bond. 100 chances of winning enough to build the Happy House....what a great idea Margaret.

Unfortunately, I received a letter from Margaret's daughter to say that Margaret passed away on the 11th of April 2007. I will miss Margaret's visits greatly, I will always be grateful for her donations of books, pencils etc and of course the Premium Bond.We will keep it always, as I know it will be a winner the same as Margaret.

The main aim of the Charity was to put educational supplies into schools in Kenya. We have also been able to provide toys, presents, and numerous other items which have helped to give the children a proper childhood. Keith & Elaine Knight gave us 3 bouncy castles, a TV/DVD set and a TV/Video unit. Subuteo was a great hit with the boys. All the children enjoyed scrabble, jigsaws, badminton, cricket, teddies, etc; our list simply goes on and on. The pleasure brought to so many children is unbelievable.

Many thanks to Ken Goddard for all his help throughout the years with Video and DVD work and his invaluable help with the computers during his visits to Watamu.

Thank you to Marco Narizzano for his generous donation to the Happy House appeal. Read Marco's story

I am sorry that I cannot mention all of you by name. All of you are so kind for raising the funds needed, for all our projects.

If you have a story to tell or would like to be featured on this site please let us know. We appreciate your support. Between us we can make a difference.
