Fundraising (Church Lawton School)
Written by year 6 School Council members Zoe and Lucas.
In summer, we held a number of sponsored events to raise money for the Happy House.
As a small school we were very successful and we have raised £272.90, we hope the money has helped the project.
Each class selected their own way of raising money. Key Stage 1 and Foundation held a fancy dress day. They were very inventive with their costumes. We had pirates, fairies, princesses and power rangers strolling around our school that day!
Year 3 and 4 decided to hold a sponsored penalty shoot-out. Each member had 1 minute to score as many goals as possible. They scored more goals than David Beckham!
Finally Year 5 and 6 arranged a sponsored wellie throw. We had a great time throwing our wellies and even managed to avoid hitting our teacher Miss Perry! We even used the event to practice our maths skills by measuring the length of our throw. Each meter we threw collected more for the Happy House!
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed having fun with their events however it also reminded us how lucky we are!
