Escape2kenya
In August 2005 we were contacted by David Wilson who runs the Escape2Kenya travel company. David did not want to be connected with a large charity as so much of the donations are swallowed up by administration costs.
We are very much hands on charity, where every penny received reaches the children it is intended for. David was very interested in our work and very kindly donated a large number of videos, 2 video players and a television. These items were taken to our project at Vitengeni.
David and his family attended our November 2006 Charity Night. During the evening it was announced that we desperately needed a generator for the school. In Watamu the power can sometimes be off for a couple of days and during this time the children miss out on their computer lessons. It is so disappointing for the kids when it comes their time for lessons and the power fails.
We were very pleased immediately the generator issue was mentioned Dave and Phil Pitcher, another of our supporters, came forward to say they would buy one. Both Dave and Phil already sponsor children and have bought bicycles, Thanks Guys.
