King Edward VII and Queen Mary Preparatory School, Lytham St Annes
In September 2006, I was invited to speak to the children of this school during their Harvest Festival celebrations.
I was made to feel so very welcome by the Head Master, Mr Jurrum the staff and children. The children had each been given a box of Smarties and asked to return it with money they had collected for The Children of Watamu. Due to the kindness and generosity of so many parents the school raised the staggering amount of £1,720.
In October I was presented with the cheque. The children decided to sponsor 6 children for a year through our Sponsored Child Scheme. The school will receive profiles about each child, together with regular updates on their progress and exam results.
The balance of the money will be put towards the Happy House project. When children help other children it is marvellous and it is the kindness and generosity of people such as these that make our hopes and dreams for the Children of Watamu come true.
