Wish List

We are lucky at Happy House to have the love and support of so many friends from all around the world.

It’s especially lovely that we get to meet some of them too, when they travel to Kenya to visit,

Often they’ll ask what they can bring, some even adding an extra suitcase filled with lovely clothing and other essentials for our children,

With 60 children in our care there’s always something we are short of, and items we can’t easily buy in Kenya.

Friends also send parcels, which is lovely, but postage is costly and we do have to pay import duty on the contents.

Again, we are grateful to the friends who, knowing this, make an additional contribution towards the duty on the parcels they send.

It’s always helpful, if they can email Papa Dave (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)  to check on the items we most need before going to the expense of sending a parcel.

In normal times, for those who plan to visit and wish to bring gifts,  always on our wish list are:

Girls’ knickers (age 2 to small adult)

Boys’ underpants  (age 2 to small adult)

Starter bras

Cotton school socks: short white for girls and short black for boys (all sizes from age 2 upwards)

Other clothing – all sizes from two upwards.

Boys cotton shorts

Girls’ cotton shorts

Girls’ lightweight leggings

Dresses

T shirts

Skirts

Boys’ short-sleeved shirts

Soap

Vaseline

Toothpaste

Toothbrushes

Educational supplies (not wax crayons as they melt in the heat!)

Croc type shoes (all sizes from baby to adult)

In these times, when the pandemic has halted tourism, what we wish for most is the money to buy the things we need .

With school returning in January we will certainly be needing some new school shoes.

So £15 would help to buy a pair of school shoes for your child.

Our bill for groceries and household items is about £220 a week.  A donation towards that would be a huge help.

If you would like to make a donation as a gift for a friend we will send you an email that you can send on to them saying thank you, providing you let us know that it is a gift and in whose name it is made.

Anything you can do to help us in these challenging times is much needed and greatly appreciated.

Thank you from all the Happy House family.
