Coffee time for our Lucky

Garstang and Over Wyre Inner Wheel president Jan Winnard (left) with Mary Mason and Charmaine Wilkinson.

Happy House kid Lucky is fortunate indeed to have a whole group of Lancashire "aunties".

Members of Garstang and Over Wyre Inner Wheel have been sponsoring Lucky since 2015 and absolutely love the friendship they have forged with this special young man who will be 13 this year.

Yesterday, they held a coffee morning in the United Reformed Church Hall at Garstang to help raise their sponsorship for Lucky. T

hey were given free use of the hall and had lots of cakes, plants and prizes all donated.

Fundrasing organiser, Charmaine Wilkinson, was delighted with the well attended event.

Mayor of Garstang Alan Pearson drew the raffle and Garstang Town Crier Hilary McGrath acted as MC for raffle draw.

Happy House voluntary UK coordinator Elizabeth Gomm thanked the Inner Wheel and those attending for their support and spoke about the essential work the Happy House is doing to transform the lives of needy children, like Lucky.

Inner Wheel president, Jan Winnard, also thanked everyone who attended and those who had worked so hard to make it a success. In our video Charmaine speaks about the joy of sponsoring a Happy Hosue child.
