Pele shirt raises £900

A Brazil football shirt signed by the legendary, Pele, sold for £900 at auction recently.

It was donated to Happy House by one of own wonderful supporters, Terry Stock, who bought it a charity sports evening at Stoke Football Club in support of Gordon Banks,  another soccer legend, some years ago.

The event was attended by Pele

Terry who has supported our  Brian Hayward and also Lovinne, now repatriated with her family, when he joined Erick's sponsor family.

Terry gave the skirt to his sister Brenda Groves, afrequent visitor to Happy House, in the hope she might eb able to raise funds with it. Brenda did try to sell it but had little interest and it had remained in a cupboard until she was talking with Chris Franklin, another of our good friends, who suggested it go to auction.

He arranged for it to be put in a sale at Henry Aldridge and Son Ltd in Wantage.

With a guide price of £200-£300 , bidding soon escalated to £900 where the hammer came town.

With many thanks to Terry, Brenda and Chris and also to  Henry Aldridge and Son Ltd and to bidders.
