Peter's close shave for cash

The cut begins, with hairdresser Pat and landlord of The Tps, Steve.

Happy House trustee Peter Reid lost his braids but kept just enough hair to keep his head warm when celebrity hairdresser Pat Wood took her clippers to his locks.

The public cropping took place at The Taps, Lytham, when those who attended were invited to take a cut in return for a donation to Happy House.

The sponsored event raised £450 on the night which, together with online sponsorship, raises a total of £1,483 towards the new roof on our children's home  which was rendered beyond repair by unprecedented rain at the emnd of last year.

The  14 year old makuti thatch roof,  is replaced with a metal one,  and Peter thought it appropriate to lose his thatch to help us get a ne roof to keep our children safe and sound.

Peter was delighted with the result and thanked everyone who had supported his effort.

Flowers, donated by Suzanne Taylor of Bond and Bloom Florist, Lytham, were presented to Pat.

Among the guests was Coronation Street start Jacqueline Leonard, who helped to sell raffle tickets.

Safe and Sound Appeal

We are desperately trying to raise £8,600 to meet the cost of an entire new roof for our children's home.

Damage done by prolonged and torrential rains late last year rendered our makuti thatched rood beyond repair and unsafe, so we are replacing it with a streel roof but have to find the money to pay for it.
